Two children died after drowning in a pond in Singra Upazila of Natore. They are Shariful Islam’s daughter Sadia (7) and her cousin Khadija (6).

The incident took place on Saturday (September 16) at noon in Shaail Budarbazar village.

Locals said that two children fell into the pond next to the house while playing at noon. They were not found for a long time. At one point around 4 o’clock in the afternoon, the two bodies were found floating in the water of the pond.

Singra Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman said that he heard about the death by drowning in the pond. However, no one filed a complaint at the police station.
